PVC, aluminum-timber or aluminum frames shall be transported with the glass already mounted, thus reducing the risk of shattering, and also increasing the efficiency and quality of installation.
The sash of the PVC, aluminum or alu-wood windows with low emissivity glass is good to be covered by the masonry over a distance covered in the range of 5-20 mm, on each side. The space between the window’s sash and the masonry hole must be at least 10 mm (needed for rode frame in the masonry hole) and no more than 50 mm (higher distances could endanger the stability of the anchorages frame into the wall). This hole will be filled with expanded polyurethane foam, for thermal insulation, and air sealing both outside and inside. After that you must ensure that the windows are perfectly vertical. Check this with a masonry level.
You can also check the assembly without appropriate gear. After mounting, the window, no matter the material, PVC, aluminum or aluminum-wood, open to different degrees from its frame, must remain in the last position, without the trend to close or open permanently.
After finishing the mounting, check again the functionality of the windows or doors. It is possible that immediately after installation small irregularities in the windows’ functionality may appear. These must be reported immediately to the company that mounted the PVC joinery, for repairing. Any unauthorized intervention on the joinery can lead to the loss of guarantee. After resolving any such adjustments, considering normal operating parameters, a window must work during installation guarantee time without any major interventions. Small interventions may only be needed for greasing the iron work or for fine tuning the window because of the yearly summer-winter cycle.
After finishing the installation, the company is obliged to grant a guarantee certificate.
